Security Guard

Job Description:

Securiguard is in constant need of excellent candidates to fill its rapidly expanding ranks. While every guard working in British Columbia is required to be hold a security license and successfully complete a Basic Skills Training (BST) course, Securiguard takes the training of their employees one step further: By training each and every member of the Securiguard family in the post orders and procedures that pertain to your jobsite specifically, Securiguard employees can feel confident in the knowledge that they are prepared for any situation they might be confronted with. Mobile Security Driver

Job Description:
It takes more than a clean driver’s abstract to become a member of our Mobile Patrol Division. We’re looking for individuals with intelligence, character, a keen eye and a proven commitment to the security industry. You’ll need all of these qualities and more to come to work everyday prepared to deal with alarm response, client property patrols, customer relations, crime prevention duties and whatever else your shift might bring. No two days as a Mobile Security Driver are ever the same. Whether you’re working alone in answer to an alarm at a waterfront warehouse, responding to a request for back-up from a site guard at a high-profile location, filling shift reports on to the company’s computer system or speaking with local law enforcement officials as part of an ongoing investigation, you’ll be constantly with new opportunities to improve yourself and hone your skills.

K9 Patroller

Job Description:
When the situation requires the very best visual, physical and aural crime deterrent that the security industry has to offer, the men and women of Securiguard’s elite K9 Unit are there to answer the call. Training with their Canine (K9) partners on a weekly basis and answering to the most rigorous private certification standard in BC, the skills of a K9 Patrol Guard are honed to a razor-sharp modicum of efficiency. The K9 Unit accepts, and expects, only the best. If you’ve a love for animals, basic computer skills, a home large enough for you and your canine partner, own your vehicle and a proven dedication to the security industry, you could be the professional that we’re looking for.

Responsibilities:
During the course of their employment in this position, candidates may be expected to:

  • Sit, stand, ride a bike or walk for an entire shift
  • Have a home with a yard for their dog
  • Have a vehicle of your own to transport animal
  • Have previous dog handling experience
  • Have a minimum of two years security experience
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Strong ethical base

  • Lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Field Support Driver

Job Description
For Securiguard to operate as a well-oiled machine it is essential that all of it‘s employees and operations receive prompt, timely support, supplies and advice when needed. As a Field Support driver, you will be a vital link in Securiguard’s infrastructure chain. Whether it is providing a new piece of equipment such as a warm coat on a cold winter night or a new flashlight to a guard in need, or delivering a package from head office to our operations centre at Vancouver International Airport, the contribution you will make on a daily basis to the company cannot be easily gauged, as your worth to our success far surpasses the hours of work you put in on a daily basis.

Without the men and women of Securiguard’s Field Support Division to see to the needs of the entire company, we could not have grown to be the west coast’s largest uniformed security provider.

Site Supervisor/Mobile Supervisor

Job Description:
Do you have the security experience to play a leading role in the Securiguard family? As a Site or Mobile Supervisor you will be expected to make the snap decisions that effect Securiguard, it’s employees and clients in the long run. Your years of security experience will be brought into service each and every time you put on your uniform as you take command of a dynamic team of security guards in a multitude of situations. You’ll be responsible for the training and discipline for each of the guards under your command. Answering to a Securiguard Account Manager or Site Manager, you’ll be expected to have all the right answers for when things go wrong, and know how to praise and groom your guards with positive reinforcement when your team functions as a well-oiled machine. If you have an extensive background in security, excellent communications and computer skills and the desire to excel, we’d like to welcome you to our team.

Responsibilities:
During the course of their employment in this position, candidates may be expected to:

  • Act as a liaison between Securiguard and its clients
  • Address the security concerns of client management
  • Design and enable emergency response procedures for your site
  • Ensure that all guards on your site meet or exceed site certification standards
  • Develop/modify site standing orders as required
  • Provide weekly scheduling for site security personnel
  • Assist in completing payroll information
  • Stand or walk for an entire shift
